Meet Lola

Lola Akinmande Åkerström, if that name sounds familiar it’s probably because Lola is a celebrated Nigerian photographer and travel writer based in Stockholm, Sweden. She is the editor-in-chief for Slow Travel Stockholm. Her works have been featured in the National Geographic Traveler, BBC, and CNN, among other publications. She is the author of the travel books, “Due North” and the best-selling “Lagom: The Swedish Secret to Living Well”.

But perhaps you know of Lola, because of her wonderful episode on this here podcast, season 1 episode 50 where she shares her journey of moving from Nigeria to the US for school and then to Sweden for love. In that episode, she also shares how she made an epic career transition into photojournalism.
